Fabio Rampazzo retires from basketball

imageAfter the farewell letter to his "terrible girls," coach Fabio Rampazzo stops coaching. These are his words: "June 1997: at a village festival, a group of friends who had never played together agree to restart the first team of Pallacanestro Limena from the first division, and I am one of them. The years passed, achieving various promotions up to Serie C1 (current C Gold), and the age also passed, so in 2006 I also dedicated myself to training young people, and a few years later I left the field as a player and continued working with the club only as a coach. June 2017: I decide to stop coaching, I don't know if only for a year, we'll see, and therefore my relationship with Limena ends. Almost twenty continuous years (one year spent as a player in Cittadella) of collaboration with this club, with many ups and few downs, where I received a lot especially from a human point of view, but I also hope to have given something, where I was allowed to cultivate my passion for basketball first as a player and then as a coach. I thank all my teammates and my coaches who have supported me in our many victories, all the managers who have followed one another in these twenty years at the helm of the club who have always given me great confidence. I wish the current management, composed of parents of kids I coached, great success not only in sports but also in the aggregation of young people, and I thank them for giving me the opportunity to create the women's team. Good life." Fabio nr. 11

Letter to the girls... from Coach Rampazzo

It's been a month since the end of the Final Four and... time heals wounds. image We won 19 out of 20 games between the league and playoffs: the season should be considered more than positive despite the defeat at the F4. You know I don't like excuses; I attribute the final result largely to myself, since I arrived at the finals perhaps a little drained. In any case, for a new, young team, created last year and mostly composed of girls who had been inactive for some years, but for 2 years in a row goes to the finals, I believe that the balance should be considered more than positive, from all points of view, especially the technical one, given the great desire and determination you had in every training session and in every game. I hope I have achieved the goal we set ourselves 2 years ago: that you would find together the desire and passion to play basketball again. Sometimes even the beautiful experiences of life must give way to others... I will no longer be your coach, but I will continue to follow you closely. I PERSONALLY THANK YOU because you gave me a lot by helping me understand how I should behave towards you, making me improve as a coach and as a man... and you gave me so many emotions... A thank you also to Fabio, my assistant coach, to Gianni, to the Limena company that allowed us to start this journey, to those who contributed financially, and last but not least to Papà Fox who punctually every week published comments and rankings of our team. One last consideration: I hope that other companies, and not only those known or those that are starting with Minibasket centers, will have the desire to do women's basketball, trying to start from the MB, because the girls can give you so much from a sporting, human and emotional point of view. A hug, Fabio

1st Division - Grand Final

imageimage The San Bellino is the second promoted team. By beating Bagnolo di Po in game 3 by 61 to 48 (14 to 7 – 16 to 14 – 17 to 12 – 14 to 15), San Bellino wins the second place available for the next Promotion championship. image Filippo Negri On the sidelines of the match, I would like to emphasize that tonight Filippo Negri (captain of Bagnolo for many years) played his last game. He has decided to hang up his shoes and from next year he will watch the games from the stands. At the end of the game, coach Nicola De Angeli (visibly emotional) declared: we deserved it, with this game we have shown that we deserve to move up a category. Coach Luca Gallani instead declared: we are ending a good season with a defeat but we are leaving the field with our heads held high. We could have done better as we wasted a lot and made too many free throws. Honor to San Bellino who proved to be a strong team. The President of Bagnolo Po, Luca Dolfini, said a few words: I'm happy anyway, well done to all the guys. The photos of the race can be seen by clicking on the link “PHOTO ALBUM” for personal use. 1st Division - another verdict

After the Armistice, Patavium is, along with Pallacanestro Pontelongo, the second team to be relegated. In a hard-fought Game 3, not without controversy, including two players ejected (one from each side), Don Bosco saves itself with a score of 53 to 44. In Game 1 of the final, San Bellino takes advantage of the home-court advantage and wins 74 to 51. Game 2 will be on Tuesday, June 13th in Bagnolo di Po. image

1st Division - Semifinal Game 3

Bagnolo di Po is the second finalist team.

With an amazing second round, the last six matches ended with a victory, followed by a clear two to zero in the playoff quarter-finals at the expense of Gattamelata, they presented themselves to the battleship Due Stelle with the odds against them. But, after losing game one with a result that suggested a thrashing also for the return match, the team of President Luca Dolfini and coach Luca Gallani played the perfect game at home and tonight in Brugine concluded the ride.
Always behind, they manage to tie in the third quarter. Point by point for the next five minutes and then the final stretch (66 to 71)
From my side, a sincere WELL DONE to captain Filippo Negri and company.

Now we remain waiting for the final games against San Bellino who will have the home field advantage.

MAY THE BEST WIN

Hang up one's boots

image 30-year-old Mary SBRISSA, captain of LupeBasket, hangs up her shoes. For 20 years she has worn the colors of the San Martino di Lupari team and now she has decided to dedicate herself to work (she is a physical education teacher) and to her husband Daniele. Honored to have photographed her at the Galà del Basket Padovano last year, I wish her a private life full of satisfaction. Cordially. Adriano Volpin

1st Division - Playoffs and Playouts

San Bellino is the first finalist team.

With a peremptory 2-0, they end the semifinal against USMI (first leg result 74-46 - second leg result 53-38).
In the other semifinal, Due Stelle has already won game 1 against Bagnolo di Po (result 71-53) and on Thursday, June 1st, they will try to end the series, although coach Gallani's team doesn't agree.

In the playout series, Don Bosco wins the first game at home with a resounding 62-30. On June 6th, Pallacanestro Pontelongo will have to play the perfect game to be able to go to game 3, otherwise they will have to say goodbye to the First Division Championship in the next sports season.
